Since completing training in both Pilates Studio Instruction and Fitness Instruction in 2008, Joel has consistently worked full time under different successful and talented studio owners who have shaped the way he teaches movement.
From studios that have held specialisation in release work then activation to cater to rehabilitative needs, or posture specific programming where correct cueing and time management were the key to great instruction, to balance work and strength training integration utilising Pilates concepts, Joel has absorbed a number of movement ideologies that all work, depending on the individual client. Joel can adapt his teaching style and exercise programming depending on the goals and abilities of the clients in question.
He is now studying the Feldenkrais Method to deepen his understanding of the connectivity of movement throughout the body, in order that he can better identify and treat specific movement dysfunction.
